Vitra BASCULE HIGHBACK lounge chair and ottoman

Designed by Studio Œ, the Bascule lounge chair pairs a loosely fitted fabric cover with a Vitra seat mechanism that adjusts automatically to the sitter's weight and follows the body from an upright angle to an almost horizontal position. Drawing on tailoring techniques from fashion, the cover drapes over the structure like a jacket and can be removed for cleaning or replacement. The highback version has a height-adjustable neck cushion, and the matching ottoman completes the set.
